In preparation for our 2005 season, we not only cut a windmill maze in our cornfield, we built a windmill to unify our educational curriculum, "Water Works." Our working windmill keeps our stock tank full, so that everyone can try pumping water using cast iron pumps.

In keeping with a Dutch law, dating from 1693, which stated "all windmills must have a name", we sponsored a contest in which various names were submitted. The winning entry came from the Tom Wilkins family of El Paso, TX. It is called the "Waterous Pompus Upus."
